A case of non-fatal occupational injury is the case of a worker incurring an occupational injury as a result of an occupational accident not leading to death. The non-fatal occupational injury entails a loss of working time. Data on occupational injuries are disaggregated according to whether the injuries were (1) fatal (as a result of occupational accidents and where death occurred within one year of the day of the accident) or (2) non fatal with lost workdays. For non-fata injuries, data are also available disaggregated by type of incapacity, reflecting (1) cases of permanent incapacity for work (where the persons injured were never again able to perform the normal duties of work in the job or post occupied at the time of the occupational accident causing the injury) and (2) cases of temporary incapacity (where the workers injured were unable to work from the day after the day of the accident, but were again able to perform the normal duties of work in the job or post occupied at the time of the occupational accident causing the injury within a period of one year from the day of the accident). Data disaggregated by economic activity are provided according to the latest version of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) available for that year. Data may have been regrouped from national classifications, which may not be strictly compatible with ISIC.
